As Festas Ciganas
Muitas hoje são as festas ditas ciganas, ou seja, que tem por temática a cultura cigana. Muitas também são as críticas vinculadas a estes festejos, na maior parte das vezes realizados pelos gadjôs (não-ciganos). E é sobre esta dualidade que tratarei aqui.
As comemorações ciganas são festas belíssimas, repletas de danças, de boa música, de alegria e encantamento. Isso verdadeiramente é fato. Quem já teve a oportunidade de presenciar uma celebração cigana, seja ela qual for: um casamento, um batismo, uma slava (festa religiosa) ou mesmo uma mera reunião de amigos; sabe do sentimento de exultação que toma conta dos presentes, da alegria que se dissemina entre os convidados. A beleza dos bailados, a força da música cigana e a ancestralidade das tradições tomam conta das pessoas de forma a levar a cada indivíduo uma emoção única.
Não, isso não é exagero, explica-se. Uma festividade do povo cigano é uma celebração a alegria, a vida e consequentemente a forma que o cigano enxerga a Deus. Para o povo cigano, a figura de Deus ou da Divindade Maior reside na junção de todas as boas coisas, os bons sentimentos, ou seja, na felicidade de uma festa reside também uma forma de culto ao Superior. Não é Deus apenas o Pai, mas sim, a personificação do Bem e daquilo que é realmente bom e belo. Daí, o caráter positivo que rege a estas comemorações e enleva seus presentes.
No entanto, muitos criticam algumas festas realizadas por algumas pessoas desinformadas a respeito da mitologia e memória cigana, aonde determinado tipo de atitudes tomadas realçam esta falta de conhecimento acerca do que é verdadeiro a respeito das tradições do povo cigano. Muitas vezes, estas críticas têm propriedade e razão de ser. Existem sim pessoas que tomam festas de “temática cigana” e tornam-nas legítimas festas da tradição deste povo, como se idealizadas e realizadas por ciganos autênticos. E, pela falta de ciência, acabam por oferecer ao seu público muitas coisas equivocadas e sem sentido cultural.
Mas, evidente, que nem toda festa realizada por um gadjô está enquadrada no caso acima descrito. Existem festejos maravilhosos e lindamente organizados por indivíduos idôneos e que não são ciganos de sangue. Mas que, sim, são amantes e admiradores do povo cigano e sua reminiscência e que tem por finalidade impulsionar e divulgar a beleza da tradição cigana em suas festas. Trata-se de uma homenagem e é assim que devem ser encaradas, como uma forma de valorizar o cigano e sua forma de viver e pensar. Desmistificam também, a sua maneira, a visão maléfica que muitas vezes o cigano possui na sociedade gadjê (não-cigana), revelando o que há de admirável e louvável e que a maior parte das pessoas desconhece.
Então, que seja, entre críticas e a tradição verdadeira, fique com a informação. Que as festas se realizem, de ciganos de sangue ou não, mas que sejam sempre baseadas nas informações adequadas e de boa procedência, afim de que as ambigüidades cessem de vez e seja a verdadeira tradição pregada de forma a enaltecer a cultura cigana legítima. E que os simpatizantes tenham sempre o privilégio de conhecer e apreciar uma verdadeira festa cigana, plenas de alegria e arte.

Algumas coisas que li neste comentário eu concordo mas o que não concordo, é que tem muitas festas que se dizem ciganas e não oferecem comidas adequadas, já fui a festas com barracas de crepe suiço, de pastel, cachorro quente isso não é festa cigana, pois deveriam pelo menos colocar, algum prato que seja de comida típica cigana.. sem contar que muita gente quando toca o hino cigano nem sabem do que se trata e ficam conversando, sem se quer prestar atenção no hino..e mais uma coisa não concordo que tem muitas festas ciganas que viraram puro comécio, niguém respeita nada nem mesmo a presença de Santa Sara e a magia que existe do povo cigano.. não quero aqui falar de pessoas que não coheço e devem fazer festas maravilhosas, mas acho, que quem respeita e admira o povo cigano,como diz ai acima, por mais que seja gajô, deveria respeitar essas tradições…

Olá, Ariane!Muito interessante a sua opinião! Com certeza você tem razão quando diz que em algumas festas ciganas não se oferecem as comidas típicas ciganas e outrossim diferentes tipos de pratos que não os tradicionais. Mas isto também explica-se, Ariane. A realidade é que a maioria das pessoas não conhece os pratos típicos ciganos e, sendo assim, a procura por estes é relativimente escassa. A preferência portanto acaba recaindo em alternativas como o crepe, pastel e outros. Vale ressaltar que vale a sugestão aos organizadores para que em suas festas possam oferecer os pratos ciganos além das que se costuma encontrar nas festas e possam todos provar da deliciosa culinária cigana!
Quanto ao respeito ao Hino Cigano seu comentário é muito bem vindo e bem colocado, Ariane. Mas com relação a Sta. Sarah coloco que nem todos ciganos são católicos, assim como nem todos são devotos desta Santa. Daí os tradicionais cortejos e outras manifestações de fé referentes a querida Sta. Sarah não ocorerem em todas as festividades, ok?

Na realidade seu post ajudou-me em algo que pretendo fazer. Concordo com vc e somente com informações confiáveis pode-se organizar uma festa assim. sinceramente nunca fui a uma festa cigana legítima ou não. Faço niver dia 24/05, dia em que comemora-se o dia da querida Sta Sara. Não sou cigana, mas respeito e admiro esse povo tão sofrido e tão guerreiro. Gostaria no meu niver oferecer aos meus amigos uma festa om temática cigana.Não uma festa à fantasia, mas algo bonito e respeitoso p/tanto espero contar com um bom amigo cigano, p/oferecer comida, bebida e músicas tradicionais ciganas.Será que ficaria bom? moro em apto e seria aqui mesmo com o objetivo principal homenagear Sta sra e o a cultura cigana.Vc tem alguma sugestão, tipo o que pode e o que pode ter na festa? obrigada.
