A verdade sobre o Halloween - O Dia das Bruxas.
Existem oito Sabbats, também conhecidos como a “Grande Roda Solar do Ano”, celebrados a cada ano sob formas diferentes por quase todas as culturas do mundo.
Os Sabbats são belas cerimônias religiosas derivadas dos antigos festivais que celebravam, originalmente, a mudança das estações do ano. São conhecidos por vários nomes e aparecem com freqüência na mitologia.
O Samhain é o mais importante e o mais conhecido dos oito Sabbats. É o famoso Halloween, e é também o mais mal-interpretado e temido entre todos.
Celebrado numa noite sagrada (hallow evening, em inglês – provavelmente essa seja a origem do nome atual: Hallow Evening -> Hallowe’en -> Halloween), entre 30 de outubro e 2 de novembro. Era sagrada porque os celtas acreditavam que durante este período o “véu” entre os mundos ficava mais tênue permitindo a comunicação com aqueles que já se foram (ancestrais).
Porém, o que poucos sabem é que o Samhain marcava o fim do verão (samhain significa literalmente “fim do verão” na língua celta) e era considerado como ano novo para os celtas. Ou seja, o halloween não tinha nenhuma relação com dia das bruxas.
A relação desta comemoração com as bruxas propriamente ditas, teria começado na Idade Média por causa das perseguições da Santa Inquisição onde homens ou mulheres que fossem considerados curandeiros e/ou pagãos eram queimados na fogueira nos designados atos-de-fé.
Então o Halloween, levado até aos Estados Unidos pelos emigrantes irlandeses (povo de etnia e cultura celta) no século XIX, ficou conhecido como “dia das bruxas” por ser o momento de celebração em que os espíritos das bruxas queimadas na fogueira devem ser honrados, juntamente com os espíritos dos seres amados e amigos já falecidos.
Outro conceito errado que muitas pessoas têm a respeito do halloween, é que infelizmente ele tem sido confundido com a “Missa Negra Satânica” ou “Sabbat Negro”, isso é decorrente de séculos de propaganda antipagã da Igreja, do medo, da ignorância e da imaginação excessiva dos escritores desde a Idade Média.
A versão cristã do Samhain é o Dia de Todos os Santos (1° de novembro), que foi introduzido pelo Papa Bonifácio IV, no século VII, para substituir o festival pagão. O Dia dos Mortos (feriado de Finados em 2 de novembro) é outra adaptação cristã ao antigo Sabbat. Após sua introdução, este feriado saciou o interesse de muitos católicos pela morte e pelo sobrenatural.
O Halloween, com suas fantasias monstruosas como é conhecido hoje, apesar de ainda gerar controvérsias se tornou muito popular por ter uma função valiosa para muitas crianças e adultos: trabalhar com o mal-estar a respeito dos mistérios da morte e do sobrenatural.
O medo intencional e sob controle é divertido porque ele gera um grande aumento de hormônios de adrenalina e ao nos vestirmos com nossos medos, nós os temos mais perto, tomando um certo controle sobre eles.
Contudo, o objetivo principal dos Sabbats são as celebrações das mudanças das estações do ano. Sendo assim, para aqueles que celebram os rituais da antiga tradição, é importante estar atento para as inversões correspondentes a cada hemisfério.
O Samhain ou Helloween deve ser comemorado aqui no Hemisfério Sul no dia 1° de Maio (Hemisfério Norte: 31 de Outubro) pois esta é a data que marca o final do verão, enquanto que no dia 31 de outubro seria comemorado o Sabbat Beltane (Hemisfério Norte: 1° de Maio) já que esse marca a “morte” do Inverno, o “nascimento” da Primavera e o começo da estação do plantio.
Beltane celebra também o retorno do sol (ou Deus Sol), e é um dos poucos festivais pagãos da época pré-cristã que sobreviveu até hoje. É baseado na Floralia, um antigo festival romano dedicado a Flora, a deusa sagrada das flores. Em tempos mais antigos, esse festival era dedicado a Plutão, o senhor romano do submundo, correspondente ao deus Hades da mitologia grega.
É importante conhecer o real significado do que se celebra pois de nada adianta ter boa intenção sem saber ao certo o que está fazendo. As consequência que uma celebração errada pode gerar, energéticamente falando, são desastrosas. Na dúvida, pesquise ou então não celebre.
